Why Sad Meli
Dishes from our mother’s kitchen in Racha — the same walnuts, herbs and spices, the same patience.
Natural wines fermented in buried clay vessels, as Georgians have done for 8,000 years. Over 50 bottles to explore.
Our khinkali are pleated by hand when you order — never frozen, never reheated. Worth the wait.
In Georgia a guest is a gift from God. Expect long evenings, generous plates and a toast or two.

Honestly one of the most incredible restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food was all insane, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were so amazing. They shared lots with us about Georgian cuisine, culture and wine.
The dumplings (khinkali) were the highlight for me — full of flavour and perfectly cooked. There is no rush at all. And the cheesecake was amazing, one of the best I have had in ages in London.
We tried Georgian cuisine for the first time, and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was delicious, authentic and full of flavour. The service was friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout.
